Object Scan questions, answered

What is an Object Scan alarm mission?

When the alarm rings, Object Scan asks you to find and scan a real-world object before dismissal. It replaces a simple stop button with a camera-based task.

Is Object Scan the same as scanning a barcode or QR code?

No. Wakey’s Object Scan mission is designed around recognizing a real-world object; it is not a barcode or QR-code alarm.

Does Object Scan need camera access?

Yes. Camera access is needed while you complete an Object Scan mission. You can use Wakey’s other mission types instead if you do not want to use the camera.

Can I combine Object Scan with another mission?

Yes. You can stack multiple missions on one alarm, including Math, Memory, Shake, Typing and Face ID.

Does Wakey work when my iPhone is in Silent Mode?

Silent-mode alarms are supported on iOS 26 or later. On iOS 18 through iOS 25, Wakey uses notification-based alarms, so notifications and sound must remain enabled.
